Why do Christians need tax exemption?

What? Where do they get tax exemptions? I think you get tax exemptions if you are a non-profit organizations but organizations like the catholic church abuse this and use this as a front for their mafia style business of collecting money without being forced to pay taxes. The christian mega-churches use the same method too.
