A Question for You Party Peeps...? Please answer!?

I know this is in the wrong category but I thought I could get more answers if I posted my question here. I hear about all of those popular/street smart/people who have a life people at my school who go to parties on Friday nights. What kind of parties are these? Who invites them? Not school people apparently, or else I would know. Who goes to them? Where are they held? What do you do there? Dance? How could I get invited to them -- organizations or friends outside of school, friends of friends, family, etc? I want to know...it sounds like fun and I don't do anything on the weekend except for homework, volunteering, and other activities. Please tell me as much as you know about these types of parties and how I could start going to them. How do I get invited? That's my main question. And no, I'm not that desperate or insecure, I just want to make my life more fun because I'm that kind of person. And if you tell me about parties and how I could get invited, what do you wear to one of these? I'm talking about the parties that people talk about at school, like "ooo I was out partying" "ooo you didn't do your homework...!" not just the occasional middle school birthday party.
