What is the diffrence between lowering springs for a 4cyl & a V6 ?

I have a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant ES 4 cyl. And i am trying to lower my car, but they told me that there was only a kit for a V6 in stock. But that it didn't fit. I don't understand if it is the same make,model,line and year. The only difference is that mine is a 4 cyl. and not a V6. Whats the difference ?
