Would I be wise to get a laptop?

Recently, I've been thinking about getting a laptop. I've also been wondering whether it's worth paying a couple of hundred quid for one. Other factors that have been playing on my mind is whether I'll get full use out of it.I already have a desktop computer at home but I usually can't get on it because there is other people always looking to get on it. it probably is the best time to but something like this as I think they have gone down in price during the recession. Also, I have a PS3 and wondered can it be connected to the ps3 for online play as I normally can't go on the ps3 online because it causes too much hle. Also, what would be the best value for money laptop/net-book out there. I don't want anything very dear like the apple brands as I have heard they often cost around �700. Oh yeah, before I forget what would be good requirements for a laptop/net-book?? In addition to all this, where would be the best place to buy. The only place I have seen that does them are Curry's and pc world.
