Hello, how can i cook my corn on the carb so the kernels end up fat and juicy and plump?

ive had it this way 2 times from catering co.many years ago.they were in a pot of hot ery water when you came up to get yours.i have tried cooking them for many hours in a slow cooker.someone said maybe brining them in a water bath with a cup of sugar for 5 hours.thank you
